Fallbrook Legacy Endowment...The Community Foundation

Pardee Donation Helps Lead Efforts in Fallbrook to Help Fire Victims

Fallbrook, CA - Families in Fallbrook affected by the devastating 2007 wildfires will find some comfort thanks to a donation by Pardee Homes and the Weyerhaeuser Foundation to the Fallbrook Legacy Endowment...The Community Foundation (Legacy Endowment). Pardee Homes' contribution to Legacy Endowment, a non-profit organization that stewards donations in the form of trusts, endowments and donor-advised funds, will allow the foundation to continue helping families impacted by the fires.

The Legacy Endowment established a fund to assist the more than 200 Fallbrook area families that lost their homes in the devastating Rice Canyon Fire. Through the generosity of many San Diego County organizations and individuals, Legacy Endowment has been able to provide more than $100,000 to approximately 80 families that lost their homes in the fire. Pardee Homes, through a grant provided by Weyerhaeuser its parent company, was proud to contribute $5,000 for the organizations efforts.

"As builders of master-planned communities in San Diego for more than 50 years, Pardee Homes understands the importance of rebuilding the community as quickly as possible to get it back to where it once was," said Beth Fischer, Division President, San Diego for Pardee Homes. "Pardee Homes appreciates the opportunity to assist the Legacy Endowment in their efforts to rebuild the Fallbrook community after last year's devastating fires."

During the week of October 20, 2007 wildfires that spread throughout San Diego County burned more than 500,000 acres, claimed eight lives and destroyed 1,500 homes.
